This resource provides a list of ideas that mental health leads can use to identify wellbeing needs and monitor and plan interventions in their setting.

It suggests ideas on topics such as:

  • screening tools for both staff and pupils
  • working with families, parents and carers
  • developing a comprehensive picture of wellbeing needs in your setting
  • recording and monitoring the impact of specific interventions.

The resource also provides further suggested reading and links to measurement tools and interventions.

Please note that the resource itself does not provide detailed guidance for how to use these tools.

Mental health leads may wish to use this resource as a starting point to review current practice, carry out further research and inform future planning.

  • use by mental health leads working with students aged 5 to 19+.
