Being black and being me
A short video featuring the voices of many young Black British people, talking about their mental health and the impact discrimination has on their wellbeing.
In this video, questions are posed to a group of young Black people of varying ages, to generate a discussion around youth mental health.
Questions answered include:
- What do you love about being Black?
- What do you hate about the way the world treats you for being Black?
- What would you like to be taught about Black people in schools?
- What does mental health mean to you?
Using this resource
This resource is designed for:
- use with young people aged 11 and up
- use with whole classes or small groups
Schools could use this resource to generate wider discussion around racism and mental health in schools.
