A guide for school and college staff to support themselves and others affected by suicide.
This guide aims to support school or college staff to create a culture where suicide can be discussed safely, as well as to support staff who are affected by suicide and suicidal feelings.
It includes information on:
- what suicide and suicidal feelings are
- how to get help or offer support to colleagues
- advice for line managers on having conversations about suicide
- advice for school leaders on creating a school culture that supports open conversations about suicide
It also contains signposting to further specialist support services.
Please note: this resource does not offer guidance on supporting children and young people.
