Building positive relationships between parents and teachers
A webinar offering advice on how to build positive relationships with parents and carers.
This 50-minute webinar offers advice and guidance on a variety of issues surrounding parent and carer engagement, such as:
- what makes communication with parents difficult?
- how to engage parents with learning
- considerations for SEND settings.
The webinar is chaired by a member of staff from Education Support and the panel consists of a former teacher and counsellor, a parent governor, and a staff member from a secondary school.
Whilst the webinar was first recorded in June 2021 and has some mentions of the Covid-19 pandemic, most of its content is still relevant today.
The webinar looks at a range of different perspectives from the panel who discuss the issues and potential barriers to positive relationships with parents. It also features a short question and answer section from viewers at the end.
Mental health leads could easily share this webinar with other staff and use it to promote positive discussions around parent and carer engagement in their settings.
