Education staff wellbeing charter
A voluntary charter declaring commitments to protect and promote the wellbeing of all education staff.
This resource is a voluntary online sign-up charter for education staff in England.
The charter is a declaration of support for, and a set of commitments to, the wellbeing and mental health of everyone working in education.
It was developed with the Department for Education in collaboration with unions, local government association, charities, organisations, schools and Ofsted.
Schools and colleges may wish to sign up to the charter to show their current and prospective staff that their setting is dedicated to improving and protecting wellbeing.

- show staff that their wellbeing is taken seriously
- open a conversation with staff about their wellbeing and mental health
- create a staff wellbeing strategy
- create a wellbeing-focused culture.
The resource also includes a document which details the commitment of the sign-up, as well as links to further resources that can be used to measure and support staff wellbeing.
