Me and my feelings questionnaire
A brief questionnaire to measure child mental health.
This questionnaire consists of 16 items designed to measure the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people. It covers two areas: emotional difficulties and behavioural difficulties.
It is practical and can be easily navigated by the user. It can be completed by children and young people in under 10 minutes and is available in 2 formats, making it accessible for different audiences.
The questionnaire has clear aims and is simple and easy for children and young people to complete.
It is intended to capture student voice and can be readily implemented by mental health leads. The language validates all feelings and responses, and acknowledges that feelings are not permanent and can fluctuate over time.
The questionnaire includes scoring instructions as well as guidance on score categorisation. It uses established cut-offs taken from CORC’s Strength and Difficulties Questionnaire and Wellbeing Measurement for Schools.
