Staff wellbeing audit
An audit tool for schools to assess their staff wellbeing provision.
This checklist from Education Support is designed to assess the quality of a school’s policies and processes for supporting staff mental health and wellbeing.
It uses a simple traffic light rating system to help identify any gaps or areas for improvement.
The tool is organised into six key areas, which are:
- A structured approach to prioritising staff mental health and wellbeing in schools
- Creating the conditions and culture to drive positive mental health outcomes for all staff
- Promoting an open culture around mental health
- Building confidence and capability, with particular focus on line managers and wellbeing leads
- Providing tools and support to all staff, including those living with a mental health problem
- Creating a transparent approach to measuring staff mental health and wellbeing
It is recommended that this resource is printed out to complete.
Using this resource
This resource is designed for:
- use by mental health leads working with students aged 5 to 19+.
Learning outcomes
This resource addresses the following learning outcomes:
- Identify and utilise tools, strategies and resources to confidently engage staff to help promote and support their mental health and wellbeing.
- Facilitate development of school staff, identifying critical training and ensuring that all staff can recognise and understand the process to respond to mental health concerns.
