Supporting staff experiencing perimenopause and menopause
A guide for school leaders to support staff experiencing perimenopause and menopause.
This guide from Education Support considers how to encourage staff retention by properly supporting those experiencing the perimenopause and menopause.
It emphasises the importance of a culture free from stigma and making reasonable adjustments for staff members.
The resource explains the difference between menopause and perimenopause and what they might look like in schools, before advising on steps leaders can take to support their staff.
Some of these steps include promoting an open culture for discussing menopause and perimenopause, examples of adjustments schools can make, and developing a framework for supporting staff.
There is also a section at the end of the guide with signposting to a number of useful organisations and further reading for leaders and education staff.
