This downloadable booklet contains tips, tools and techniques to support the mental wellbeing of children and young people.
The resource draws on evidence and techniques from positive psychology. It has been developed with young people and is informed by their experiences with mental health and wellbeing.
It includes simple, practical activities to help pupils improve their wellbeing, as well as space to reflect on their thoughts and feelings.
The resource covers:
- gratitude
- positive thinking and reflection
- recognising and responding to negative thoughts
- how to find your flow.
It can be used as a stand-alone resource and as part of your whole-school or college approach to mental health and wellbeing.
Using this resource
This resource is designed for:
- use by mental health leads working with students aged 9 to 19+.
- use by staff working in primary schools, secondary schools, and colleges (sixth form and further education), all-through, alternative provision.
Learning outcomes
This resource addresses the following learning outcomes:
- Develop, with others, a cross curricular approach to promote mental health and wellbeing.
