An e-learning and toolkit to support staff to train young people to implement a peer-led wellbeing support programme in secondary schools and colleges.

This e-learning and toolkit aims to support school staff to train young people to implement a peer-led wellbeing support programme in their secondary school or college.

The initial e-learning is flexible and takes approximately four hours to complete. The course equips facilitators to deliver the training programme to young people in their school or college, using the toolkit provided.

Drawing on positive psychology and a relational approach to wellbeing, the e-learning covers the process of establishing, training, coordinating, and supporting a bespoke peer-to-peer programme within their setting.

The toolkit to deliver the training comprises of four modules, which can be adapted for delivery in your setting. All the resources required to train young people, including PowerPoint slides and pupil workbooks are included.

The course also includes access to a Facebook community, facilitator support sessions and guidance for reviewing the effectiveness of your programme.

Please note that this is a paid resource, starting at £895 for three years’ access.

This resource is designed for: 

  • use by mental health leads working with students aged 11 to 19+.

Learning outcomes

This resource addresses the following learning outcomes: 

  • Develop effective plans to empower and involve pupils and students (including those with additional needs and communication difficulties) in the co-production, and embedding, of their whole school or college approach.
  • Identify opportunities for appropriate use of pupil or student peer-led wellbeing support.
