Classroom wellbeing toolkit
A toolkit sharing practical steps that staff can take to promote and support mental health through their everyday interactions with students.
This evidence-based toolkit was co-created by the Anna Freud Centre and the Early Intervention Foundation (EIF).
The toolkit aims to help secondary school staff take steps to improve students’ mental health and wellbeing through everyday practices.
It focuses on enhancing the quality of the classroom environment and relationships between students and staff.
The toolkit covers five main areas:
- building supportive relationships
- creating a classroom environment where all students feel they belong
- promoting good mental health
- responding to stress, low mood and anxiety
- preventing bullying, cyberbullying and sexual harassment.
Using this resource
This resource is designed for:
- use by secondary school classroom teachers, but will also be useful for teaching assistants, librarians and other support staff
