Talk Relationships: sharing of nudes
A PSHE lesson resource that explores the impact of non-consensual image sharing and helps students aged 12 to 14 respond safely to pressure to share explicit images.

About this resource
This lesson from the NSPCC, developed in partnership with the PSHE Association, helps students aged 12 to 14 understand the risks associated with sharing sexual images and how to manage situations where they may feel pressured or uncomfortable. It also supports students to reflect on the consequences of non-consensual image sharing, including when images are forwarded without permission and offers practical strategies to keep themselves and others safe.
It forms part of the Talk Relationships series, which helps schools and colleges to deliver inclusive, age-appropriate relationships and sex education.
By taking part in this lesson, students will:
- identify pressures and influences that can lead to requests for sexual images
- explore ways to respond to and manage these requests, including how to seek support
- understand the legal and emotional consequences of sharing images without consent, and how to challenge non-consensual image sharing.
Further guidance
Due to the sensitive and challenging nature of the topic, the Teaching Guidance and lesson plan include signposting and suggestions to help staff navigate these conversations in a thoughtful and supportive way. They also provide links to curriculum guidance and support for responding to questions from parents and carers.
