Leadership and wellbeing in secondary settings
A free webinar exploring how leadership can support mental health and wellbeing in secondary schools.
This webinar discusses the range of mental health and wellbeing challenges that secondary school settings may face and explores how students and staff can be supported with these.
Some of the issues discussed surrounding emotional wellbeing include:
- anxiety around transition from primary to secondary school
- peer pressure
- identity
- climate change
- handling high expectations from family members.
It also signposts to further resources to support with implementing a whole-school approach to mental health and wellbeing.
The webinar would be a helpful introduction for secondary school staff who are developing their whole-school approach, referring back to the 8 principles. It focuses particularly on prevention, identification and early support.
It would be suitable for senior leaders who have a responsibility for mental health, as well as aspiring leaders looking to build upon their knowledge and experience in this area. It may also be helpful for safeguarding teams.
