Learning outcomes for senior mental health leads in schools and colleges

A document laying out all of the learning outcomes for senior mental health lead training, helping them to implement an effective whole school or college approach to mental health and wellbeing.

This document from the Department for Education lays out all of the learning outcomes for senior mental health lead training, organised under Public Health England’s eight principles of a whole-school or college approach.

Any senior mental health lead training should address these learning outcomes and ensure senior mental health leads feel confident meeting them after completing their training.

Under each of the eight principles, the learning outcomes are split into ‘learn’ and ‘do’ covering what a lead should learn on the training, and what leads should then be empowered to do as a result.

This document is usually shared with senior mental health leads at the start of their training, but can also act as a useful framework for those looking to continually develop their work as a senior mental health lead.
