Parenting Smart: advice from child mental health experts
A resource hub featuring tips and guides for parents and carers around children’s mental health.
This set of over 50 resources contains practical advice for developing positive relationships with children and young people.
The resources are collated by by Place2Be’s experts. They cover a vast range of topics, including building listening skills for parents, supporting healthy gaming habits, and de-escalation techniques.
Each resource includes links to further reading around the topic and, where relevant, signposts to specialist external organisations. Some of the resources are accompanied by a short video, using animation to clearly explain and build on the guidance given in the written content.
This would be a helpful set of resources for mental health leads, providing a practical, evidence-based and accessible tool to signpost to parents and carers.

This resource is designed for:
- use by mental health leads working with students aged 5 to 11
- use by staff working in primary and all-through schools.
