Teaching about mental wellbeing
This training module supports subject leads to help teachers delivering mental wellbeing as part of the curriculum.
This training module has been developed by the Department for Education to support schools to implement the new curriculum.
The information included is clear, concise and aims to reduce the amount of extra reading required for staff. It refers to the statutory guidance, safety agreements and safeguarding, making delivery accessible for SEND students.
It includes information that is appropriate for primary and secondary settings, examples of good practice, and activities and templates for trainers. It also contains slides that should be adapted for individual settings.
Staff using this training module should be aware that it was created during the Covid-19 pandemic and therefore contains references to it. However, staff could still use these slides to discuss the impact of the pandemic or choose to move past this section.
