Teaching and learning toolkit
This toolkit supports education staff who make decisions about how to improve learning outcomes.
The Teaching and Learning Toolkit offers an objective review of various interventions and resources. It provides key findings to support teachers and senior leaders make decisions about the appropriateness of interventions for their settings.
The toolkit includes an informative guide and accompanying video which clearly explain how it should be used. It is practical and easy to understand, and incorporates a visual key to highlight cost, strength of evidence and impact for each intervention.
The toolkit considers a range of factors for each intervention and resource, including:
- The effectiveness of the approach
- How the resource can be implemented in your setting
- Cost
- How secure the evidence is
It also provides information on what the intervention is, the key findings and suggests relevant Education Endowment Foundation studies.
Using this resource
This resource is designed for:
- use by mental health leads working with students aged 5 to 19+.
Learning objectives
This resource addresses the following learning outcomes:
- Work in partnership with local service providers and mental health professionals (including Mental Health Support Teams where these are in place) to ensure the needs of pupils, students and relevant adults are known, and used to shape the support.
- Identify and access the most appropriate statutory or independent mental health service provision available in their local area.
